V5 power consumption

Lower power matters if you run Starlink on solar, a battery or a generator. About 35 to 50 W is roughly half of what the V4 draws.

V5 vs V4

The V5 is a lighter, lower-power dish, not a faster one. Starlink lists a slightly lower peak speed for the V5 (375+ Mbps) than for the V4 (400+ Mbps). Actual speed depends on your plan and area.

Which kit will you get?

Starlink decides which kit ships to your address. The V5 is only in select areas, so you may still be offered the older kit. Check your address on starlink.com before you order, and see what Starlink costs. Starlink has not published a V5 price that we can confirm.
